Lincoln Castle has a whole host of festive events taking place this Christmas.  For young visitors to the Castle, maybe a visit to Father Christmas himself might be just the ticket?

An Audience with Father Christmas – 16th, 17th, 20th – 21st December.  Experience the magic of Christmas at Lincoln Castle by joining Father Christmas in the Victorian setting of the Bath House at the Castle.  Sit back and listen to stories of Christmases past and enjoy finding out more about Father Christmas himself.  Every child receives a Victorian style gift and has the opportunity to share their Christmas wishes.

Tea with Father Christmas – 20th December.  A new family friendly special event. Children and families are invited for a special after-dark tea time treat – a visit to the Victorian Prison for a storytelling performance of “A Christmas Carol”.   Costumed characters along with a host of puppets bring to life Dicken’s famous tale.  After the 30 minute performance all are invited to the Castle café for tea when special guest, Father Christmas, will take time from his busy schedule to meet everyone!

What The Dickens – 20th, 21st December.  Especially for the School Christmas holiday, and set inside the Victorian Prison, Inner State Theatre perform their festive family favourite – “A Christmas Carol”.  Two costumed characters – Sir Henry Greatham and Lady Lydia will tell the story of Scrooge in Dickens’ famous tale.

To book, or for details on admission and times for all of the above events – please go to www.lincolncastle.com

Over at The Collection in Lincoln the fun continues with a great selection of Christmas activities for little ones.

Festive Story Times will take place on 21st and 28th December at 11.15 am; and these are completely free to pop along to and enjoy.

The popular festive themed Craft Activities will be returning too and running throughout the holidays, as will the “Collecting Christmas” Craft Trail.  Both are £2 each to take part.

On Sunday 17th December a treat awaits young visitors as Afternoon Tea with Santa takes place in Stokes Collection Café.  Tea takes place from 4:30pm to 5:30pm and costs £9.50 per child, which includes a gift from Santa.  Booking is essential – and you can do so online at www.stokes-coffee.co.uk (The cafe and bar open will be open for grown ups too!)
