2018 1

Back for its fourth year, Countryside Lincs returns to the Lincolnshire Showground on Sunday 8th April with an interactive family day out all about food, farming and the countryside.

We have seven different zones for children to explore around the Showground, plus an action-packed timetable of displays in the Countryside Ring – including the very entertaining Dog & Duck Show and an impressive falconry display!

Meet farmyard animals large and small in our Farmyard Zone, including cows, sheep, horses, a donkey with her foal, a goat and her kids and guinea pigs. Come and say hello to some poultry, rabbits, cavies and waterfowl. Explore the world of the chicken, take part in cookery demonstrations using eggs, decorate your own eggs and meet some chickens and chicks!

See tractors and farm machinery from across the ages in the Tractor Zone, and have a ride around our mini-tractor obstacle course. In the Countryside Zone you can try your hand at country sports, see amazing birds of prey and meet some very special giant tortoises. Head over to Heritage Zone, and learn about our wonderful Lincolnshire heritage from times gone by.

The Exhibition Hall houses the Make It and Explore It Zones, packed full of lots of different hands-on activities. Discover lots of fun and interesting hedgehog facts at our Hedgehog Hospital, test your knowledge of water through our interactive game, investigate the world of electricity, explore mini bugs, plant your own seeds – plus much more!

Across the path, enter the Food Zone for hours of fun. Some of our favourite local producers will be teaching you the tricks of the trade on how to make cheese, sausage rolls and pork pies! Then, take the grown-ups to our Indoor Food Market so they can get their hands on their favourite local treats including luxury fudge, tasty macaroons, Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and free range pork. Don’t forget to take a ride around the Showground on our popular tractor and trailer and get involved with our Easter Egg Hunt!
