  • Steampunk Extravaganza on the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway

The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway will be holding a special three-day Steampunk-themed event at Ludborough station from Saturday 26th to Bank Holiday Monday 28th May.

“Steampunk is all about mixing old and new by fusing the usability of modern technology with the design and philosophy of the Victorian age, particularly steam-powered machinery”, explains LWR Events Director, Amanda Arnold.

“There’s a high probability that you have seen it or experienced it without perhaps realising. For example, high-tech Victoriana featured in classic films such as “Around the World In 80 Days” and “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and more recently Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland”.

We’ve named the event “Nanty Narkins”, which is Victorian slang for “Great Fun”. So, whether you are into Steampunk or not, it promises to be a great weekend of fun and frivolity for everyone”.

Steam trains will be running hourly from 10.45am to 3.45pm each day. In the Events Field there will be a Steampunk craft market, Performers, Traction Engines, Fortune Teller, Tea & Cakes, side show and games. Cream Teas will be served on the 1.45pm train on Monday. Tickets for this are £12 person, which must be booked in advance online.

There will also be Evening Entertainment with a Bar in the marquee on the Saturday evening, featuring Alice Night Circus. Entrance to this is by ticket only. These are £10 each and are available online or from Ludborough station shop. When you buy ten or more tickets you get two free.
