Mama Bear Photography is proud to be a family-run business from our home-garden studio in the peaceful and secluded village of Branston, Lincoln.

Mama Bear; Ali, has been a family photographer for over 8 years and will be the only person answering your emails and messages, planning your session, taking the photos, editing your images and delivering the final products. Our purpose-built Canadian-style lodge has become affectionately known as ‘The Cabin’ and everyone that has visited has commented on the feeling of total relaxation as soon as they step through the door, especially once they have sunk themselves into the plush, cushion-filled sofa.

Whilst enjoying a freshly made coffee or tea, and some snacks, you can sit back and enjoy watching your baby or child having their photographs taken. For new parents in particular this is a wonderful experience as not only will you get chance to have a drink while it is still hot you can rest (maybe even have a little nap) and enjoy having some time to just adore your baby. I spend time getting to know you all before and during your session so you are totally comfortable with me taking care of the most precious little thing in your life. My sessions are completely baby-led, often lasting 3 hours or more and you will never feel rushed as I only book one newborn session per day for total peace of mind.

My maternity sessions are a combination of dressing up in gorgeously glam dresses making you feel beautiful and wearing your own clothing for more natural, relaxed images too. I know from experience these sessions can be daunting, but I will make you feel extremely comfortable during your session and you will be so happy you chose to celebrate this incredible time before baby arrives!

I also offer child sessions from when baby starts sitting up independently through to their teenage years and I love getting to know your little ones and bringing out the best in them. I encourage you to bring a few bits from home, both to make them feel comfortable but also so we can capture their personality and what they are really into at that age. We have a lot of fun – there is usually some singing, dancing, twirling and a lot of laughing!

I love to celebrate baby’s 1st birthday with a Smile, Smash & Splash session which involves portraits of your little one before the bespoke cake comes out and things get very messy! Don’t worry about the mess, we have the tub on hand for cleaning afterwards and plenty of splashing and bubbles! I love to create a unique theme for each child to celebrate their individuality and to provide you with images that you want to hang on the walls of your home (the kitchen is always a great place for a cake smash photo)!

I have taken the time to source a gorgeous offering of products from luxury canvasses and bespoke wall art to heirloom wooden boxes housing stunning mounted prints and of course individually designed boxed albums. When you purchase all your images from your session you receive an engraved wooden USB in a wooden box personalised with your child’s details, which is a lovely keepsake from any session.
