Watch out Lincoln, HORRIBLE HISTORIES will be rampaging into the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre this month!


Ahead of a hugely anticipated season in the West End, HORRIBLE HISTORIES – BRAND NEW BARMY BRITAIN is touring the country for the very first time and can be seen at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre on Sunday 24 March at 1pm and 3pm. This hilarious hit show is a gag-filled gallop through British history with just two actors playing all of the roles!


Would you be shaken or stirred by Richard III? Mount a mutiny against King Henry VIII! See Mary Tudor knock the spots off Mary Queen of Scots! Will Queen Elizabeth I endure her terrible teeth? Would you be hanged by King James I for being a witch? Peep into the world of Samuel Pepys and help Georgian detectives find the headless man! Take a trip into the night with the night soil men and discover how to survive the first ever train ride!

These are just some of the fascinating characters audiences will discover in this splendiferously funny 65 minute show – It’s history with the nasty bits left in!


Brand New Barmy Britain is written by Terry Deary and Neal Foster from Deary’s bestselling Horrible Histories books. Terry Deary is the world’s bestselling non-fiction author for children and one of the most popular children’s authors in the country. He has written 200 books which have been translated into 40 different languages. His 50 Horrible Histories titles have sold over 25 million copies worldwide from China to Brazil!


Birmingham Stage Company, who recently celebrated their 25th anniversary, are one of the world’s top theatre companies for families. As well as a lucky thirteen years of Horrible Histories shows, they are also known for Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine as well David Walliams’ Awful Auntie and Gangsta Granny.

Lincoln Performing Arts Centre has an outstanding reputation for bringing the biggest names in children’s entertainment to the region.
