Join in the family and adult fun at Hartsholme Country Park!!

Are you trying to think of new and exciting ways to entertain your children in the upcoming holidays and to also learn new skills yourself? The good news is you don’t need to go that far!

New for this year we also have and extended program of adult craft courses to get your teeth into also throughout the Easter half term and beyond we have many different activities on offer to suit all children, whether they are crafty, outdoorsy or just plain thrill seekers.

Just some of those events coming up this spring is our increasingly popular event for the under 5’s Toddler Time (Friday’s 18th March, 26th April and 17th May) where you can get are a fun and exciting range of seasonal events for the under 5’s, we advise to dress to get messy!!

Join us for an hour and a half of slime making fun! We will make the slime, add some exciting ingredients at the ‘slime bar’ to make each slime unique and of course have some time to play with the slime that you have made and have a how far can you stretch your slime competition! (Tuesday 9th April 10am to 11.30am Arboretum)

Build your very own Junk Boat (Tuesday 9th April 1pm to 2.30 Hartsholme) from recycled materials and see if it will set sail in the Great Hartsholme junk regatta!

Get all arty in our Mosaic Making workshop (Boultham Thursday 11th April Hartsholme Tuesday 28th May) where you can create your very own tile to take home.

Discover the joys of flight by making your very own bottle rocket (Hartsholme Thursday 11th of April 1pm to 2.30pm). This activity has lots going on, a satisfying ‘whoosh’, a high-speed departure and a good soaking if you are standing close!! This activity is also validated as a Childrens University event.

Take part in our Dream catcher activity (Tuesday 16th April 10am to 11.30am at the Arboretum and Thursday 30th May 10am to 11.30am at Boultham) where this little piece of Native American folklore will trap all your bad dreams and let the good ones through.

Get all arty at our Easter craft workshops on Tuesday 16th April (Hartsholme 1pm to 2.30pm) and Thursday the 18th of April (Boultham 10am to 11.30am) where you can make anything from an Easter bonnet to decorations to brighten up the home.

Use a weaving board with Ribbon, braid or yard try your hand at designing and creating your own fantastic patterned wall hanging (Thursday 18th April 1pm to 2.30pm Hartsholme)

Our ever popular and eggciting Easter Egg hunt (Friday 19th  April  to Monday 22nd April anytime between 12pm and 3pm) gives children the chance to find the eggs left behind by the Easter bunny and eggschange it for their very own chocolatey treat!

Make a date with nature on the weekends of the 20th and 27th of April and the 4th May 11am to 4pm by taking part in the RSPB’s annual Heron Watch to discover and learn more about these giants of the bird world.

Come along and enjoy the rides and browse the stalls at our annual Spring Fair (Saturday 11th May 11am to 4pm) where there will be lots to do for all the family.

Make some noise on our Junk Instrument session where you can make anything form a drum to a kazoo!! (Tuesday 28th May 10am to 11.30am Arboretum)

In the words of the song “With tuppence for paper and string”, create your very own masterpiece, and make a kite and see if it flies on Thursday 30th of May (1pm to 2.30pm at Hartsholme).

 

Our “travelling roadshow”, of events will be taking place throughout 2019 where we will be rolling out the events across the city. So keep your eyes peeled for more fun and action packed events coming to a Lincoln green space near you!!!
