As we reach the milestone of 6000 Lincoln Mums Family Card holders, we will, for the second year in succession, be making a donation of 10p for every card sent, to the projects undertaken by Lincs2Nepal.

Lincs2Nepal was founded in 2009 by Garry Goddard after Garry spent 2 years volunteering in Nepal. Lincs2Nepal is a 100% voluntary charity changing the lives of lower caste children and their families in remote areas of Nepal. Every penny goes towards their projects and their volunteers receive no wages.

Lincs2Nepal are committed to providing a fun filled happy and caring environment at Jeevan Jyoti school. They currently have over 800 children aged from 3 to 12 and by 2025 will be educating over 1300 children from age 3 to 18 years old.

Children at the school are attaining results among the top 5% in the country. Jeevan Jyoti is a mixed caste school with half of the children coming from the lowest caste Dalit and Tharu tribes. This in itself is ground breaking as there is no segregation, the children learn, sit, eat and p[lay together, breaking down the existing caste system for this new generation.

Lincs2Nepal also run 4 village schools which are feeders to the main school.  Here the children learn basic disciplines sch as sitting still, standing in line, health and hygiene, simple counting and the alphabet. Lincs2Nepal also work with adults in these rural communities, providing adult education, womens empowerment groups and health and hygiene systems, as well as providing each family with a water purification system.

Would you like to do something life changing? Sponsoring one of the lower caste children’s education really CAN change a life. It costs just £12 a month to sponsor a child’s education – you are their sole sponsor and can enjoy regular letters, photos and correspondence – or you can visit with the team and see projects first hand!

My son is 11 and writes to Khagendra – who we have sponsored for 5 years now. My daughter is 6 and we started to sponsor Tulsa, a girl of the same age, as they began their school journeys together.  Why not do the same for your children ?
