We were lucky enough to be invited to experience Sundown’s Christmas Spectacular last weekend, a lovely day out ahead of the busy Christmas festivities!

Sundown Adventureland is a long term favourite in our family even as our two children have become more grown up – and on a wet day (which we seem to have constantly!) there is plenty to occupy all ages inside and out. Crash Landings is a great place to take a break and we also ventured out for The Rocky Mountain Railroad, Robin Hood ride,  Lollipoppet Castle complete with its very own sleeping dragon and the Wild Ostrich Safari Ride!

We experienced the famous ‘Night Before Christmas Ride’ found deep within the park’s 30 acres. This takes you through the enchanted forest on a sleigh to visit Santa’s Spectacular House, where a special gift is awarded to every child.

Sundown Adventureland's Honey and Sunny at the Christmas Spectacular

During weekends, Sundown Adventureland’s family of elves deck the halls of the new Christmas marquee and there was the chance to meet the park’s very own Snow Queen, friendly elves and three animatronic Arctic singing reindeers. We also met Honey and Sunny, the park’s bears and watched a great magic show by local entertainers Andy and Lewis. A great day out had by little people – and grown ups too!
